WebSockets and Javazone

One of the highlights of the year is definitely Javazone. If you are not familiar with this event - GET FAMILIARIZED!! It is a fantastic developer conference organized by the Norwegian Java user group - JavaBin.

Every year the organizers seem to exceed expectations and this year was no different. I heard roumers that there were 2300 attendees, which indicates 200 more than last year. CONGRATS JavaBin!!

During the conference I had an opportunity to meet some of the usual supsects at Java conferences such as this - Kirk Pepperdine, Geert Bevin, Alexander Snaps, Howard Lewis Ship, James Ward, ... as usual everyone was busy getting ready with their last minut preparations for their sessions. Fortunately, the Javazone organizers made sure that all speakers enjoyed the stay by throwing a great speakers party.

For me this was the start of the conference season and I was looking forward to get developers feedback on HTML 5 WebSockets and, of course, our own WebSocket server, the Kaazing Gateway.

My talk was all about scaling out a "real-time" Web solution and the hurdles developers might face. I finished my presentation by demonstrating the Kaazing Gateway. This was the first time we publicly demonstrated the Kaazing Gateway, and everyone seemed to have enjoyed the talk and demonstration.

Next up on my travel schedule is the High Performance on Wall Street conference where you can come and visit us and get a demo of HTML 5 WebSockets and Kaazing Gateway.

Stay tuned for more.
